As an athlete with backgrounds in dance, gymnastics, swimming, diving, track and field, Olympic weight lifting, and CrossFit for the past 10+ years, I understand what it takes to go after the things you want most — the time, the sacrifice, the energy you put into it every day, and the relentless urge to keep going after it. This relentlessness is incredible. However, it will take a toll on the athletic body. How do you build something strong, fast, explosive, mobile, etc? First, you have to break it down. When I say break it down, I mean get to the nitty gritty, the minute detail that can take your performance from good to greatness.
I’m Christa, and I’ve been practicing massage therapy since 2015, specializing in sports massage. Before practicing massage, I was a gymnastics coach for ten years. Sports and movement have been a true passion for me. In the fall of 2022, I began working with Campbell University’s Track & Field team as their team massage therapist, which set my passion on fire. During my first season, we saw a significant decrease in injuries and an increase in performance. Six of our athletes qualified for the NCAA Championships (the first time in program history), with two athletes coming home as All-American Champions, taking 3rd in the 400m hurdles and 5th in the 800m. Our 400m hurdler qualified for the USA Trials, which I also had the opportunity to participate in as her massage therapist.
Over my years of practice, my knowledge of sports and movement, and my relentless pursuit to elevate athletic performance. I’ve developed a detailed approach to getting you where you want to be. It won’t be rainbows and butterflies; it will take hard work, grit, and consistency. I work with my clients to elevate their performance, to make them better at their chosen sport, and to get them where they want to go. If you want that place in the sun, you have to get out of the shade.
